Self-discovery has always been at the heart of Joejene's works. The revelation of beauty and the wonders of the existence of life and nature fuels her creativity.

Joejene's artistic practice is a conscious engagement in the feeling of the creative moment guided by a sense of joy, wonder and curiosity like a child discovering life.

His abstract compositions on canvas are created with acrylic in a unique style that is deeply rich in color and texture.

Born in the Philippines where he obtained a degree in Fine Arts and practiced his artistic passion professionally, Joejene is now distinguished as an abstract artist on the Ottawa and Montreal art scene. He has presented numerous exhibitions in Canada since arriving in the country with his wife and children in 2006.

His paintings are in private collections in Canada, the Philippines, the United States, Japan, the Netherlands, Sweden and Italy.

"My painting is intuitive. Trusting my intuitions internally in complete surrender is at the heart of my creative process. For me, knowing beauty in its purest form is truly liberating... being in constant awe of the world around us, being one with all of its creation, soaking up the moment and living it fully is a true gift of life."
